Color Scheme

What do pink, purple, and blue have in common? They are the iconic color symbols of the early 2000s. For our film we want to rely heavily on the color pink to contrast with the darker tones of the world around the main character in order to represent the external and internal conflict.

The Color Pink
Our main character will have a very girly room completely surrounded in pink. Typically, the color pink is known for representing innocence, femininity and beauty in film. Our main character will show just that. Focusing on mainly physical features on herself and those around her. She is excited about the way she looks from the beginning of the film and has shallow views regarding others. She fits into the other notable coming-of-age film genre, relating to films like Mean Girls and Legally Blonde.
Wardrobe
Not only will her room be pink, her wardrobe will be very pink. It will feature colorful jewelry and a well put together and true early 2000s style. Clothing like low rise jeans, velvet tracksuits, and juicy catoure will appear in her closet and outfits. Her mom will also be shown wearing clothing appropriate to the time as well. Their house will be decorated in a more toned down and moderate way compared to her bold room, once again, to show the contrast in her life.
Details
From 2022 to 2005, technology has changed vastly. House phones, cell phones, computers, and televisions have all had serious changes. Nowadays, hardly anyone has a house phone and televisions are the size of walls and completely flat!! We will take this into consideration with our setting and props in our film. We plan to have a pink bedazzled phone which belongs to our main character (similar to the one shown below) and a few other 2005-esque attributes.
